أَسْمَاءُ اللهِ الْحُسْنَى
This verse teaches us an essential key for our supplications.
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ فَٱدۡعُوهُ بِهَاۖ
To Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them.
Quran, Al-A'raf 7:180
This verse affirms that the most beautiful names belong to Allah. It asks us to invoke Him by using them. For example, we can say: 'O Most Merciful, have mercy on me' or 'O Forgiving, forgive me.' These names describe His perfect attributes. In our daily life, we can choose a name of Allah suited to our need and use it in our prayers. This helps us feel close to Him and entrust our worries to Him.
Today, before a supplication, choose a name of Allah (like Ar-Rahman or Al-Ghafour) and call upon Him by that name.
