This verse reminds us that Allah’s blessings are preserved as long as we remain upright.
That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves.
Quran, Al-Anfal 8:53
Verse 53 of Surah Al-Anfal teaches that Allah does not remove a blessing unless the people themselves change their inner state. It is a call to personal responsibility: our actions and hearts influence the stability of our blessings. In our daily lives, we can preserve our blessings by cultivating gratitude and avoiding ingratitude. This verse invites us to examine our behaviors and continuously improve.
Today, take a moment to thank Allah for a specific blessing, then perform an action that shows your gratitude, such as helping someone or saying 'Alhamdulillah' sincerely.
