خَيْرٌ
This verse addressed to the captives reveals Allah's promise for those who keep goodness within.
If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what was taken from you and will forgive you.
Quran, Al-Anfal 8:70
Allah addresses the captives held by the believers. He tells them that if He perceives good in their hearts, He will grant them better than what they lost and forgive them. This verse combines two favors: a superior compensation and forgiveness. In our lives, we may face losses or trials. This verse invites us to cultivate a sincere and trusting heart. Inner goodness is not in vain: Allah sees it and can turn it into a greater blessing.
Today, take a moment to do a sincere good deed, like a kind word or discreet help, believing that Allah sees the goodness in your heart.
