السخرية
This verse warns us against mocking those who give, whether much or little.
فَيَسۡخَرُونَ مِنۡهُمۡ سَخِرَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡهُمۡ
They ridicule them; Allah will ridicule them.
Quran, At-Tawba 9:79
In this verse, Allah condemns those who mock the believers who give charity, whether they give generously or only find their meager means. Mocking their effort is severely blamed. In our daily lives, we may be tempted to criticize or ridicule the efforts of others, especially if they seem insignificant. This verse reminds us to respect every sincere effort, for Allah knows the intentions and circumstances of each person.
Today, when you see someone making an effort, even a modest one, encourage them with a positive word instead of mocking.
