تَوْبَة
This verse speaks of people who acknowledge their faults and hope for Allah's forgiveness.
وَءَاخَرُونَ ٱعۡتَرَفُواْ بِذُنُوبِهِمۡ خَلَطُواْ عَمَلٗا صَٰلِحٗا وَءَاخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Quran, At-Tawba 9:102
The verse describes people who have confessed their sins. They have done both good and bad deeds. The text says that Allah may accept their repentance, for He is Forgiving and Merciful. It does not promise, but leaves the door open. In our lives, we all have mixed deeds. This verse invites us not to despair. Acknowledging our mistakes is a first step. We can turn to Allah sincerely, without waiting to be perfect.
