This verse invites us to reflect on repeated trials and turn to Allah.
Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice but then they do not repent nor do they remember?
Quran, At-Tawba 9:126
The verse observes that some people are tried every year, once or twice. Yet they do not repent nor remember. It thus associates trial with two possible responses: repentance and remembrance. In our lives, difficulties can become opportunities to return to Allah. Instead of enduring them passively, we can see them as reminders to purify our hearts and strengthen our faith.
Today, take a moment to reflect on a recent difficulty and make a sincere repentance to Allah.
