الْحَنِيفُ
This verse invites us to direct our whole life towards Allah, with complete sincerity.
وَأَنۡ أَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفٗا
And [commanded], 'Direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth'
Quran, Yunus 10:105
In this verse, Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to turn entirely to Him, being 'hanif', meaning sincere and exclusive in worship. The previous verse shows the Prophet ﷺ worships only Allah, and the next forbids invoking other than Him. Thus, sincerity means purifying our intention and practice for Allah alone. In our daily life, we can check our intentions: are we acting to please Allah or for other motives? Taking a moment to purify our intention helps us stay aligned with this sincere orientation.
Today, before an action, take a minute to ask yourself: 'Am I doing this for Allah?' and recenter your intention.
