الْهِدَايَةُ
This verse reminds us that guidance is a personal matter.
فَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهۡتَدِي لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيۡهَا
Whoever is guided is guided for his own soul, and whoever goes astray goes astray to its detriment.
Quran, Yunus 10:108
In this verse, Allah tells the Prophet to say to the people that the truth has come from their Lord. Each person is free to follow it or not. The one who chooses guidance benefits himself; the one who goes astray harms himself. The Prophet is not responsible for their choices. This teaches us that we are responsible for our own decisions. We cannot imitate others without thinking. Every day, we choose between following the truth or our desires. These choices build our life here and our future.
Take a minute to reflect on a recent decision: did you follow the truth or your desires? If needed, decide to strive to follow the truth today.
