In this verse, Allah consoles Noah in the face of his people's persistent refusal.
فَلَا تَبۡتَئِسۡ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ
“So do not be distressed by what they have been doing.”
Quran, Hud 11:36
Allah reveals to Noah that only those who have already believed will believe. He commands him not to be distressed by the deeds of the disbelievers. The verse does not promise an end to opposition, but it invites him not to be overwhelmed by sadness. In our lives, we may encounter people who reject our advice or efforts. Patience then consists of continuing our path without letting their refusal discourage us, entrusting guidance to Allah.
Today, if someone rejects your advice or help, take a breath and say inwardly: “I will not be distressed; I leave the rest to Allah.”
