ضِيَافَة
This verse shows us how Abraham welcomed his guests with eagerness and generosity.
فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ حَنِيذٖ
and he did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf.
Quran, Hud 11:69
In this passage, messengers come to Abraham with good news. They greet him with 'Peace,' and he replies 'Peace.' Then, without delay, he brings them a roasted calf. This gesture shows his eagerness to serve his guests and honor them. This attitude illustrates diyāfah, generosity toward the guest. In our daily lives, we can imitate Abraham by welcoming our guests warmly and offering them what we have, even modest, without waiting.
Today, if someone comes to your home, offer them a drink or a snack with a smile, without delay.
