حِفْظ
Joseph offers his skills for a useful mission.
إِنِّي حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٞ
I will be a knowing guardian.
Quran, Yusuf 12:55
In this verse, Joseph asks the king to place him in charge of the land's storehouses. He presents himself as a reliable guardian and a knowledgeable person. He does not stay passive: he offers his abilities for a responsibility that serves the common good. The previous verse shows that the king already trusted him. The next one confirms that God established his position. Today, we can imitate this attitude. Instead of waiting for someone to assign us a task, we can offer our help where it is useful. This requires knowing our strengths and putting them at the service of others.
Identify a skill you master and offer it today to a person or organization that needs it.
