إِيفَاء
In this verse, Joseph shows how generosity is expressed in concrete actions.
أَلَا تَرَوۡنَ أَنِّيٓ أُوفِي ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَأَنَا۠ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمُنزِلِينَ
Do you not see that I give full measure and that I am the best of hosts?
Quran, Yusuf 12:59
Joseph, in Egypt, receives his brothers without them recognizing him. He provides them with their supplies, giving full measure without holding back. He also presents himself as the best of hosts, meaning one who welcomes with care and generosity. This verse combines two qualities: fairness in trade and kindness in hospitality. In our daily lives, we can apply this by being honest in our dealings and welcoming others warmly.
Today, when you serve or share something, give fully without stinting, and welcome the person with a sincere smile.
