صِدْق
This verse shows how Joseph's brothers defended their honor with a sincere statement.
قَالُواْ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُم مَّا جِئۡنَا لِنُفۡسِدَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَٰرِقِينَ
“By Allah, you have certainly known that we did not come to cause corruption in the land, and we have not been thieves.”
Quran, Yusuf 12:73
Falsely accused, the brothers swear by Allah of their innocence. They remind that they did not come to corrupt and that they are not thieves. Their defense relies on truth, not lies. In our lives, we may face misunderstandings. Responding calmly and sincerely, without exaggerating or distorting facts, preserves our dignity and credibility.
Today, if someone makes an unfair remark to you, reply with a true and calm sentence, without getting angry.
