الِاسْتِغْفَار
Jacob's sons acknowledge their mistakes and ask their father to seek forgiveness for them.
قَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَبَانَا ٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا خَٰطِـِٔينَ
They said, "O our father, ask for us forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners."
Quran, Yusuf 12:97
In this verse, Jacob's sons admit their errors and ask their father to pray for them. They do not just feel regret; they ask someone trustworthy to intercede for them. This shows humility and the importance of acknowledging one's wrongdoings. In our lives, we can also recognize our faults and ask Allah for forgiveness directly. Sometimes, we can also ask our loved ones to pray for us, as Jacob's sons did. This strengthens bonds and shares our spiritual journey.
Today, identify a mistake you made, ask Allah for forgiveness, then ask a trusted person to pray for you.
