الرَّحْمَة
This verse teaches us to hope for Allah's forgiveness, for He is Forgiving and Merciful.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Quran, Yusuf 12:98
In this verse, Prophet Jacob promises his sons to ask his Lord for forgiveness for them. He bases his hope on two names of Allah: al-Ghafūr, the Forgiving, and ar-Raḥīm, the Most Merciful. These names show that Allah is ready to forgive and is full of kindness. When we make a mistake, we can turn to Allah with confidence. His forgiveness is immense and His mercy is infinite. Today, if you have erred, do not despair: ask Allah for forgiveness sincerely, for He is the One who forgives.
Today, sincerely ask Allah for forgiveness for a fault you have committed, calling Him al-Ghafūr ar-Raḥīm.
