The Rootless Tree

A bad word is compared to an uprooted tree, without stability.

وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٖ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ ٱجۡتُثَّتۡ مِن فَوۡقِ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٖ

And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.

Quran, Ibrahim 14:26

This verse compares a bad word to a bad tree, pulled out from the ground. Like that tree, it has no roots or stability. So it cannot produce any lasting good.

In our daily lives, hurtful, false, or useless words resemble that tree: they bear no good fruit. Choosing good and useful words is like planting a solid tree that nourishes and protects.

Today, before speaking, ask yourself: is this word good and useful? If it looks like a rootless tree, choose silence or a kind word instead.
