تَسْخِير
This verse invites us to contemplate the order of the sun, the moon, the night and the day as a sign of gratitude.
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيۡنِۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ
And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day.
Quran, Ibrahim 14:33
In this verse, Allah reminds us that He has placed the sun and the moon at our service, with a regular motion, and that He has subjected the night and the day to set the rhythm of our lives. These are immense blessings, often overlooked due to habit. Realizing this precise order helps us feel gratitude. We can thank Allah simply by acknowledging His generosity and using these gifts to worship Him and do good.
Today, take a minute to observe the sky or reflect on the alternation of day and night, then say inwardly: 'Thank You, Allah, for these blessings.'
