Abraham entrusted Allah with the security of his city and the purity of his offspring.
And when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols."
Quran, Ibrahim 14:35
This verse reports Abraham's prayer. He asks Allah for two things: security for the city and protection from idolatry for himself and his children. This supplication shows Abraham turning to Allah for both material and spiritual needs. In our lives, we can imitate this trust. We can ask Allah to protect our places of living and to keep us from anything that distances us from Him, such as bad habits or distractions.
Today, make a simple supplication: "My Lord, protect my city and keep me from anything that distances me from You."
