إِقَامَةُ الصَّلَاةِ
In this verse, Prophet Abraham asks Allah to help him establish prayer and to grant this to his descendants.
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡنِي مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِيۚ
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants.
Quran, Ibrahim 14:40
After thanking Allah for his children, Abraham asks Him to make him constant in prayer and to grant the same to his offspring. He does not only pray for himself, but also for future generations. This supplication teaches us to ask Allah to help us pray regularly and to be an example for our children. We can also pray for Allah to guide our family in establishing prayer.
Today, after each prayer, make this supplication: 'My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants as well.'
