مَغْفِرَة
A simple prayer that embraces the whole community.
رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡحِسَابُ
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.
Quran, Ibrahim 14:41
This verse brings together three requests for forgiveness: for oneself, for one's parents, and for all believers. It combines them in a single supplication, oriented toward the Day of Judgment. On that day, everyone will need Allah's mercy. In our daily lives, we can imitate this spiritual generosity. Including others in our prayers broadens our hearts and reminds us that we form one community.
Today, in a prayer, ask forgiveness for yourself, for your parents, and for a believer you know.
