الْمَعَايِش
This verse invites us to recognize Allah’s generosity in providing for us and for many creatures.
وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
And We have made for you therein means of living and for those for whom you are not providers.
Quran, Al-Hijr 15:20
In this verse, Allah reminds us that He has placed on earth means of living for us, but also for other beings we do not feed. These creatures depend on Him, not on us. This shows that provision comes from Allah alone. We can then realize how much we receive without effort: food, water, air. This thought fills us with gratitude and humbles us, for we do not control everything.
Today, take a moment to thank Allah for a simple need already met, like the water you drink.
