This verse invites us to reflect on two gifts from Allah: the winds and the rain.
And We send the fertilizing winds, and We send down from the sky water with which We give you drink, and you are not its retainers.
Quran, Al-Hijr 15:22
Allah reminds us that He sends the winds described as 'fertilizing' and that He sends down from the sky water that gives us drink. He clarifies that we are not able to retain it. This verse brings together two major blessings: the winds and the water. Every day, we see the wind blow and we drink water without always thinking about it. These elements are quiet reminders of Allah's generosity. Acknowledging them is already a form of gratitude.
Today, when you drink a glass of water, take a moment to say inwardly: 'Thank You, Allah, for this water.'
