زِينَة
This verse invites us to contemplate Allah's creatures and be grateful to Him.
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:8
Allah reminds us here that He created horses, mules, and donkeys for our benefit: to ride and as adornment. These animals are concrete blessings that ease our travel and beautify our lives. The verse adds that Allah also creates what we do not know. This invites humility and gratitude: we only know a part of His creations, and He continues to provide for us.
Today, take a moment to thank Allah for a means of transport or a useful object, and reflect on the fact that He creates far more than what you know.
