شُكْر
This verse invites us to contemplate the sea and draw a lesson of thankfulness.
وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:14
Allah reminds us that He has subjected the sea for human beings. From it we eat fresh meat, extract ornaments, and see ships sailing. These blessings are signs of His goodness. This verse calls us to be aware of these gifts and to respond with gratitude. Today, we can thank Allah for the sea's resources and the journeys they enable.
Take a moment to thank Allah for a blessing related to the sea, such as food or travel, and express that thanks with a short supplication.
