تَقْوَى
This verse reminds us that nothing escapes Allah, even our most secret thoughts.
إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡتَكۡبِرِينَ
Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:23
The verse states that Allah knows everything we hide and everything we reveal. He knows our deepest intentions. He does not love those who are arrogant, because pride leads one to feel superior and forget Allah. In our daily lives, we may sometimes act to be seen and admired. This verse invites us to purify our hearts and act sincerely, remembering that Allah always sees our inner reality.
Today, before acting, ask yourself: 'Am I doing this to please Allah or to be noticed?' Then perform a good deed in secret.
