يَسْجُدُ
This verse invites us to contemplate the humility of all creation before Allah.
وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels, and they are not arrogant.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:49
The verse brings together all creatures: those in the heavens, those on earth, and the angels. All prostrate before Allah. The angels do so without arrogance, conscious of their Lord. This universal humility reminds us of our place. We can join this prostration, not only through prayer, but also through an inner attitude of submission and gratitude.
Today, make a prostration (sujûd) outside of prayer, meditating that all creation prostrates with you.
