الصَّبْرُ
This verse invites us to prefer what remains with Allah over what fades away in this world.
مَا عِندَكُمۡ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٖۗ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓاْ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:96
The verse contrasts two realities: our possessions and pleasures eventually disappear, while what Allah grants is eternal. It promises a beautiful reward to those who are patient, without specifying its nature, but linking it to the best of their deeds. In our daily lives, we may be tempted to seek immediate gain. This verse encourages us to be patient and act with constancy, trusting in Allah's promise.
Today, when you are tempted to react impatiently, take a minute to remind yourself that Allah's reward is lasting, then do your task calmly.
