شُكْر
This verse illustrates how ingratitude towards Allah can turn a peaceful life into hardship.
فَكَفَرَتۡ بِأَنۡعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلۡجُوعِ وَٱلۡخَوۡفِ
But it denied the favors of Allah, so Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:112
Allah gives the example of a city that was safe and secure, receiving abundant provision from everywhere. But its people denied these blessings. As a result, Allah afflicted them with hunger and fear because of what they did. This story invites us to recognize the daily blessings we often take for granted. Security and food are gifts. Being aware of them is already a form of gratitude.
Today, write down three concrete blessings you have received and thank Allah for each one.
