This verse invites us to eat what Allah provides and to be grateful to Him.
Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
Quran, An-Nahl 16:114
Allah reminds us that all food is a gift from Him. He asks us to choose what is lawful and pure, and to acknowledge His favors. Gratitude is linked to worship: thanking Allah is part of our devotion. In our daily life, we can be mindful of where our food comes from and of Allah's goodness. A simple sincere thank you, without any prescribed formula, is enough to express our gratitude to Him.
Today, before eating, take a moment to thank Allah for this meal.
