This verse reminds us that our journeys by sea are a manifestation of Allah's mercy.
It is your Lord who drives the ship for you through the sea that you may seek of His bounty. Indeed, He is ever, to you, Merciful.
Quran, Al-Isra 17:66
Allah reminds us that He makes ships sail on the sea so that we may seek His bounty, that is, the benefits He grants us, such as trade or travel. This verse associates Allah's power over the sea with His mercy towards us. In our daily lives, whenever we take a boat, we can recognize that it is Allah who facilitates our crossing. This awareness invites us to be grateful to Him and to use these journeys for good and useful activities.
Today, if you take a sea transport, observe the sea and thank Allah in your heart for His grace that allows you to travel.
