This verse invites us to perform the prayer at its prescribed times, especially the dawn prayer.
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night, and also the recitation of dawn, for the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.
Quran, Al-Isra 17:78
This verse commands to establish prayer from the decline of the sun until the deep darkness of the night, thus covering the prayers of the day and evening. It then mentions the dawn prayer, called here 'recitation of dawn', and states that it is witnessed, meaning it takes place in the presence of witnesses. In our daily life, this word reminds us that prayer structures our day and connects us to Allah. The dawn prayer, in particular, is a special moment, often calm and peaceful, where we can start the day with serenity.
Today, take a minute to reflect on the time of the dawn prayer and note it in your phone or on paper, so you can prepare for it.
