الرُّوح
This verse invites us to acknowledge the limits of our knowledge.
قُلِ ٱلرُّوحُ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّي وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا
Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little."
Quran, Al-Isra 17:85
Asked about the soul, the Prophet receives a clear answer: it belongs to Allah's command. The verse does not describe its nature but affirms its divine origin. It thus combines two ideas: the soul is part of divine mystery, and our science remains partial. In our lives, we often seek to understand everything. This verse invites us to intellectual humility. We can learn, but some realities are beyond us. Recognizing this brings peace of mind and strengthens trust in Allah.
