قَتُور
This verse invites us to recognize our natural tendency toward stinginess in order to overcome it.
وَكَانَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ قَتُورٗا
“And ever has man been stingy”
Quran, Al-Isra 17:100
In this verse, Allah reveals that human beings are naturally stingy. Even if they possessed all the treasures of divine mercy, they would fear spending them. This description is not a fate but a call to awareness. Recognizing this tendency helps us cultivate generosity. Every day, we have the opportunity to give a little of what we have, whether money, time, or a smile. Generosity is a virtue that grows with practice.
