لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِي
Moses, in the Quran, shows us how to ask forgiveness with humility.
لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنِي بِمَا نَسِيتُ
"Do not blame me for what I forgot"
Quran, Al-Kahf 18:73
In this verse, Moses addresses his travel companion after forgetting a condition. He does not make excuses; he acknowledges his forgetfulness and asks not to be blamed. This request is simple and direct. In our lives, we sometimes forget commitments or promises. Instead of defending ourselves, we can follow Moses' example: acknowledge our mistake and sincerely ask for forgiveness. This eases relationships and shows our humility.
Today, if you realize you have forgotten something towards someone, apologize and ask for forgiveness.
