تَسْبِيح
Zechariah comes out of the sanctuary and signals his people to glorify Allah morning and evening.
أَن سَبِّحُواْ بُكۡرَةٗ وَعَشِيّٗا
to exalt [Allah] in the morning and afternoon
Quran, Maryam 19:11
In this verse, Zechariah, after receiving a sign from Allah, comes out to his people and signals them to glorify Allah morning and evening. The word 'tasbih' refers to this glorification, a praise that acknowledges Allah's perfection. The verse associates this practice with two specific times of the day. This practice is simple and accessible. Like Zechariah, we can take a moment in the morning and a moment in the evening to glorify Allah. This helps us start and end the day by turning to Him.
Today, upon waking and before sleeping, say 'SubhanAllah' (Glory be to Allah) at least once, reflecting on His greatness.
