الِاسْتِغْفَارُ
Abraham responds gently to his father who threatens him.
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكَۖ سَأَسۡتَغۡفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّيٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِي حَفِيّٗا
"Peace will be upon you," said Abraham. "I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me."
Quran, Maryam 19:47
In this verse, Abraham promises to ask forgiveness for his father, despite his father's harshness. He does not respond with anger but with peace and kindness. He links forgiveness to Allah's grace, who has always treated him with goodness. This attitude teaches us to keep a noble heart, even in the face of hostility. Asking forgiveness for others is an act of spiritual generosity. Today, we can imitate this gentleness by forgiving someone who has wronged us.
Today, toward someone who has hurt you, say inwardly: "Peace be upon you" and ask Allah to forgive them.
