وُدّ
This verse announces a comforting promise for those who combine faith and good deeds.
سَيَجۡعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وُدّٗا
The Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.
Quran, Maryam 19:96
In this verse, Allah promises to grant His love (wudd) to those who believe and do righteous deeds. This affection is a divine gift, a sign of His mercy. The previous verse reminds us that everyone will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection, highlighting the importance of our actions. Here, Allah associates faith and deeds with obtaining His love. Hoping for this love can encourage us to persevere in doing good, even when it is difficult. Every sincere small action counts and can bring us closer to this promise.
Today, perform a sincere good deed, even a small one, hoping for Allah's love.
