فَهْم
Moses asks Allah to make his words understandable.
يَفۡقَهُواْ قَوۡلِي
That they may understand my speech
Quran, Taa-Haa 20:28
In this verse, Moses continues his supplication: after asking Allah to untie a knot from his tongue, he wishes that his speech be understood. He does not only ask to speak well, but to be heard and understood by those who listen. This request is praiseworthy: it shows the importance of clarity in communication. In our daily lives, we can also ask Allah to help us express ourselves in an understandable way, whether with our family, friends, or colleagues.
Today, before speaking to someone, make a short inner supplication: 'O Allah, make my words understandable.'
