آيَات
This verse invites us to ponder the traces of past nations.
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلنُّهَىٰ
Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence.
Quran, Taa-Haa 20:128
The verse reminds us that many generations were destroyed before us. Their dwellings still exist, and we walk among them. These ruins are not mere remnants; they are signs for those who reflect. In our daily lives, we can observe ancient sites or stories of past civilizations. Instead of passing by, we can pause and meditate on what led to their end. This helps us draw lessons for our own conduct.
Today, observe a ruin, an old building, or a photo of an ancient site, and reflect on what it teaches you about the fragility of things.
