This verse invites us not to covet the fleeting pleasures of others.
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to some of them, as splendor of worldly life, to test them. The provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
Quran, Taa-Haa 20:131
Allah asks us not to look with envy at the possessions given to others. These possessions are a test, and the provision Allah has for us is better and more lasting. In our daily lives, we may feel attracted to what others have. This verse helps us cultivate contentment and focus on what Allah has given us.
Today, when you feel envy, say inwardly: 'The provision of Allah is better and more enduring' and thank Him for what you have.
