خُلُود
This verse reminds us that no one is immortal in this world, a truth that turns our hope toward the hereafter.
وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَ
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth].
Quran, Al-Anbiyaa 21:34
Allah reminds us that no man before the Prophet ﷺ was granted immortality on earth. Death is a universal law, as the next verse confirms: every soul will taste it. This is not a sadness, but a call to look beyond. Knowing that this life is limited helps us not to cling to it as if it were eternal. It encourages us to hope in Allah's mercy and to prepare for our meeting with Him.
