إطعام
This verse invites us to eat from the sacrificial animals and to feed the poor and needy.
فَكُلُواْ مِنۡهَا وَأَطۡعِمُواْ ٱلۡبَآئِسَ ٱلۡفَقِيرَ
So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.
Quran, Al-Hajj 22:28
In the context of the pilgrimage, Allah reminds believers to mention His name over the livestock He has provided for them. He then asks them to eat from it and to feed those in need. This verse combines worship and generosity. Today, we can apply this spirit by sharing what we have, even outside the pilgrimage. Whenever we receive food or a blessing, we can think of others and let them benefit from it.
Today, share a meal or some food with someone in need, or prepare a meal to offer to a neighbor or a charity.
