تَقْوَى
This verse reminds us that the value of our deeds lies not in their appearance, but in the sincere piety that drives them.
لَن يَنَالَ ٱللَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَآؤُهَا وَلَٰكِن يَنَالُهُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ مِنكُمۡۚ
Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you.
Quran, Al-Hajj 22:37
In the context of sacrifice, Allah clarifies that the meat and blood do not reach Him. What matters is taqwā, sincere piety that comes from the heart. Thus, the outward act only has value if accompanied by a right intention. Today, our religious actions can become habits. This verse invites us to check our intention: are we seeking to please Allah or to show off? Sincerity transforms every gesture into worship.
Before doing a good deed today, take a minute to silently formulate your intention to do it for Allah alone.
