قَلْب
The verse invites us to travel to awaken our hearts, for true blindness is not of the eyes.
فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعۡمَى ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ وَلَٰكِن تَعۡمَى ٱلۡقُلُوبُ ٱلَّتِي فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ
For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
Quran, Al-Hajj 22:46
This verse follows the mention of destroyed cities for their injustices. It invites us to travel the earth and reflect on these ruins. The goal is to acquire a heart that understands and ears that listen. True blindness is not physical: it is the blindness of the heart, which fails to draw lessons from what it sees. Today, we can travel or observe our surroundings. But without an attentive heart, we remain blind to signs. Let us take a moment to reflect on what we see, and ask Allah to open the eyes of our hearts.
Today, observe a place or situation, then ask yourself: what lesson can my heart draw from it?
