This verse describes believers who give while their hearts are filled with reverence.
وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ رَٰجِعُونَ
while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord.

Verse 23:60 combines two attitudes: giving generously and feeling deep reverence. This reverence is not paralyzing fear, but a humble awareness of returning to Allah. It shows that giving is not a mere formality, but a sincere act. In daily life, we can give without expecting recognition. This reverence reminds us that our return to Allah is certain. It invites us to give humbly, seeking only His pleasure.
Today, give a small amount or a smile while keeping in your heart the awareness of returning to Allah.
