عَوْذ
This verse teaches us to ask Allah to protect us from the presence of devils.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحۡضُرُونِ
“And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me”
Quran, Al-Muminoon 23:98
In this verse, the believer turns to Allah to be preserved from the presence of devils. He asks not only for protection from their incitements but also from their presence. This shows the importance of relying entirely on Allah. In our daily lives, we can recite this supplication for protection, for example before starting an important task or when we feel vulnerable. It is a simple way to strengthen our connection with Allah and entrust our fears to Him.
Today, before starting an activity, recite this supplication: “Rabbi a’udhu bika min hamazatish-shayatin, wa a’udhu bika rabbi an yahdurun.”
