تَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّنًا
This verse warns us against the tendency to minimize our words.
وَتَحۡسَبُونَهُۥ هَيِّنٗا وَهُوَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِيمٞ
“and you thought it insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous.”
Quran, An-Nur 24:15
In this verse, Allah reminds how a rumor was spread without knowledge. People thought it trivial, but it was serious to Him. The verse links our casual judgment of our words and their real weight with Allah. Today, we often repeat words without checking. We deem them unimportant. Yet every word is known to Allah. Before speaking, we can ask ourselves if what we are about to say is true, useful, and kind.
