This verse warns us against a grave injustice: falsely accusing chaste and believing women.
Indeed, those who falsely accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter; and they will have a great punishment.
Quran, An-Nur 24:23
This verse mentions three qualities of the victims: they are chaste, unaware of evil, and believing. Falsely accusing them is such a serious injustice that Allah curses them in this world and the Hereafter, with a tremendous punishment. In our daily lives, we might spread rumors without verifying. This verse reminds us to protect others' honor and never take part in an unjust accusation.
Today, if you hear a rumor about someone, refuse to spread it and gently remind others that we should not accuse without proof.
