نِكَاح
This verse encourages marrying the unmarried and promises Allah’s help.
وَأَنكِحُواْ ٱلۡأَيَٰمَىٰ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ مِنۡ عِبَادِكُمۡ وَإِمَآئِكُمۡۚ إِن يَكُونُواْ فُقَرَآءَ يُغۡنِهِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞ
And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
Quran, An-Nur 24:32
The verse invites the community to help unmarried people get married, including righteous servants. It does not say that marriage eliminates poverty, but that Allah may enrich the spouses through His generosity. This promise encourages not to delay marriage out of fear of lack. Today, we can concretely support a single person around us, through financial help, making introductions, or encouragement. This reflects the spirit of solidarity of the verse.
Today, identify a single person in your circle and offer concrete help to facilitate their marriage, such as a financial contribution or an introduction.
