إِقَامَةُ الصَّلَاةِ
This verse associates three essential acts with the hope of divine mercy.
Establish prayer, give zakah, and obey the Messenger – that you may receive mercy.
Quran, An-Nur 24:56
In this verse, Allah commands believers to establish prayer, give zakah, and obey the Messenger. These three actions are linked to receiving His mercy. The preceding verse mentions Allah's promise to grant succession and security to those who believe and do good. The following verse warns disbelievers of their fate. Thus, this verse addresses believers to guide them toward what benefits them. Performing prayer on time is a concrete way to respond to this command. It structures the day and constantly reminds us of our dependence on Allah. Zakah and obedience to the Messenger complete this commitment, but prayer is the first daily step.
Today, perform each prayer at its time, starting with the next one.
